BetBoom vs GamerLegion for IEM Cologne Stage 2 spot

BetBoom and GamerLegion will play on June 3 at 14:30 local time in Cologne for a chance to reach Stage 2 at the IEM Cologne Major. Both teams entered the match after winning their opening Stage 1 Swiss matches and will move to 2-0 with a victory.

BetBoom beat Team Liquid 13-9 on Dust2 in their opening match. The Russian organization used substitute Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov and built a 9-1 lead on the CT side before closing the map 13-9.

GamerLegion defeated FlyQuest 13-11 in a tight game. Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski produced late clutch plays that helped GamerLegion secure the win and finish the map 13-11.

Stage 1 at IEM Cologne uses a Swiss format: teams that go 2-0 are well placed to advance to Stage 2, while teams that fall to 0-2 are eliminated from the Major. The winner of the BetBoom–GamerLegion match will sit at 2-0, the loser will drop to 1-1 and continue in the Swiss rounds.

Other results from the event’s opening rounds include B8’s 13-11 win over THUNDER dOWNUNDER, M80’s 13-6 victory over Sharks, MIBR’s 16-14 win over TYLOO, and BIG’s 13-1 win over Gaimin Gladiators. In the second round, Lynn Vision beat HEROIC 13-11 and NRG beat SINNERS 13-6. After day one, player Aleksandr “Boombl4” (Boombl4) finished as the highest-rated player at 1.53.

Round three on June 3 also features NRG vs FlyQuest (12:30), Sharks vs Lynn Vision (12:30), Liquid vs MIBR (13:30), THUNDER dOWNUNDER vs BIG (13:30), TYLOO vs SINNERS (14:30), M80 vs B8 (17:00), and Gaimin Gladiators vs HEROIC (17:00). Map selection for each match will follow the tournament’s standard veto process before play.
