BenjyFishy, BillieIDK highlight UK talent at VCT London

VCT Masters London resumed at Copper Box on June 12. Ben ‘BenjyFishy’ Fish faces Vitality at 6pm and Billie ‘BillieIDK’ Purdie joins the broadcast.

VCT Masters London continued at the Copper Box on June 12 after the Swiss Stage concluded and the playoff bracket was set. Team Heretics’ Ben “BenjyFishy” Fish was scheduled to face Vitality at 6pm, and Billie “BillieIDK” Purdie joined the broadcast team for the weekend.

The Heretics–Vitality matchup followed the Swiss rounds. Vitality advanced through the Swiss stage to reach the playoffs and booked the fixture against Heretics in the EU bracket.

Ben “BenjyFishy” Fish described Valorant as unpredictable and skill-driven: “any team can beat anyone. It’s not like some other games where it’s really hard for a team to win if they get behind early, any team can win no matter how far they are behind.” He noted that single plays can swing momentum and advised young players to “work hard but stay in school.” Fish first gained wide attention after performing at the 2019 Fortnite World Cup.

Billie “BillieIDK” Purdie recalled not knowing esports was a viable career option until 2021 and likened her broadcast role to football punditry. On the live show atmosphere she told attendees: “Expect vibrancy, high energy, and unspoken connection, most importantly. There is nothing more incredible than having thousands of people sat in a live audience watching the same show, even if they are supporting different teams, all sharing that moment and excitement together.” She rejected the idea that gaming is only a solitary activity and said she has met close friends through Valorant.

UK creatives were visible at the event. Rapper Che Lingo wrote the event song and has worked on music for esports since 2018. Community artist SUNFWER contributed official art for Valorant and has more than one million followers across Instagram and TikTok.

The Copper Box previously hosted the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational in 2023 and earlier Gfinity events. Commentators and players referenced a downturn in esports activity after the COVID-19 pandemic. Matches and broadcasts ran through the weekend, with streams available on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch and Billie present on the desk for multiple broadcasts.
