b1t: NAVI enjoy matches more when everyone contributes
NAVI reached a Big Event semi-final in Beijing for the first time since winning IEM Atlanta, with b1t linking the run to stronger contributions from every player.
Natus Vincere reached a Big Event semi-final in Beijing for the first time since winning IEM Atlanta. The team defeated Spirit, FURIA and Falcons during its run, including two victories over Falcons.
NAVI will face The MongolZ in the semi-final. The MongolZ have won three consecutive matches in Beijing and changed their lineup since their last meeting with NAVI at the Esports World Cup.
Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy described NAVI’s season as difficult. The team often lost close matches against strong opponents while falling short in small details.
“We were not playing the best CS that we can and some small details always were lacking,” b1t said.
NAVI’s recent results in Bucharest and Beijing have improved the team’s experience in matches, according to b1t. NAVI defeated Spirit and FURIA in Bucharest, while FURIA went on to win the tournament.
“I’m enjoying a lot when we’re playing good CS,” b1t said. “Everybody’s involved, everybody trying to make solutions, try to be a big part of the team, and eventually it’s working good.”
NAVI will prepare for The MongolZ as it would for any strong opponent, with no additional expectations for the semi-final.
“We will prepare as always. We will treat them like a strong team, obviously,” b1t said. “This is semi-finals, kind of a Big Event, so we will do our best to win this game.”
After the Beijing tournament, NAVI plan to return home instead of staying in Asia for a boot camp. The team expects to rest for three or four days, practise online and then travel to a boot camp ahead of the Major, where it will start in Stage 2.
