Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake, Theodora to open EWC 2026 in Paris

The Esports Foundation named Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake and Theodora as headliners for the Esports World Cup opening ceremony at La Seine Musicale on July 8, 2026.

The Esports Foundation announced that Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake and Theodora will headline the Esports World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony at La Seine Musicale in Paris on July 8, 2026. The performance launches the tournament’s first edition outside Riyadh and precedes a seven-week competition ending on August 23.

The foundation described the ceremony as a way to link live-streaming culture and digital communities with a live entertainment event to draw attention to the multi-game festival. The EWC schedule includes more than 2,000 players, about 200 professional clubs, 25 tournaments across 24 titles and a prize pool exceeding $75 million.

Organisers selected the three French artists to reflect Parisian music and to appeal to audiences who follow streaming platforms and creator-led content. The line-up emphasises acts whose work spans Afrobeats, electronic production and online creator culture.

Mike McCabe, deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer at the Esports Foundation, described the Opening Ceremony as an opportunity to welcome the world and celebrate Paris through artists who have shaped music and culture in France. McCabe added that the three acts represent different elements of French creativity and influence.

Last year’s Opening Ceremony in Riyadh featured performers including Post Malone, Alesso, Duckwrth, Tina Guo, SEVENTEEN’s DINO and The Word Alive’s Telle Smith.

La Seine Musicale will host the evening show on July 8 ahead of the tournament’s competitive weeks. The foundation noted the entertainment programme is part of an effort to combine live events with online streaming and community participation as the EWC expands into Europe.
