Aurora sweeps M80 2-0 to reach BLAST Open Porto final

Aurora eliminated M80 2-0 at BLAST Open Porto, winning Dust2 13-3 and Inferno 13-5 to reach the Group A lower-bracket final against G2.

Aurora eliminated M80 2-0 in the group-stage lower bracket of BLAST Open Porto in Porto, winning Dust2 13-3 and Inferno 13-5. The Turkish side will face G2 in the Group A lower-bracket final for a spot in the playoffs at the Super Bock Arena.

Aurora opened on their map pick, Dust2, and built a 7-0 lead on the attacking side before M80 answered. The first half ended 9-3 and Aurora won the first four rounds after the switch to close the map 13-3. AWPer Özgür “woxic” Eker posted a 2.28 rating on Dust2 and finished as the map’s top performer.

On Inferno, Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş aced the B site with the Dual Berettas while defending, and Aurora led 10-2 at halftime. M80 took the CT pistol round after the switch when Michael “Swisher” Schmid landed a last-bullet headshot on B, but Aurora won six of the remaining rounds to finish Inferno 13-5.

Across both maps, Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın recorded 30 kills. Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski and XANTARES each had 28 kills. M80 posted 21 kills from Mason “Lake” Sanderson and 20 from Swisher. The loss eliminates the American-German roster from the tournament.

The Group A lower-bracket final between Aurora and G2 will determine which team advances to the BLAST Open Porto playoffs at the Super Bock Arena. BLAST Open Porto continues with single-elimination lower-bracket matches for remaining playoff berths.
