Aurora parts with coach Sezgin “Fabre” Kalaycı

Aurora confirmed that Sezgin “Fabre” Kalaycı has left the organization after notifying the club months ago that he intended to step back. The team posted the announcement on X and said Fabre coached through the IEM Cologne Major; his final match was a semi-final loss to FURIA.

Fabre, 36, joined the squad in November 2022 when the team still competed as Eternal Fire. He led the lineup to multiple deep runs at international events and guided Aurora to victory at PGL Masters Bucharest in November 2025.

After the Cologne defeat, captain Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli reflected on the tournament: “As a five-Turkish team, we came as far as we could at this Major. We tried our best. We sometimes showed good Counter-Strike; sometimes not. I really gave my best today. It was not enough. I want to congratulate FURIA; they played really well today. That’s the end of the story. We will see for the future.”

People close to the club say Aurora plans to move to an international roster and that former GamerLegion head coach Ashley “ash” Battye is reported to be close to taking the head coach role. The organization has not confirmed a replacement and offered no timelines for staff or roster changes.

Aurora’s active roster currently lists Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli, Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, Özgür “woxic” Eker, Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın and Caner “soulfly” Kesici. The club’s statement did not specify whether any players’ statuses will change as it pursues a more international lineup.

Aurora thanked Fabre for his contributions. Fabre’s next plans were not announced. The organization and players will prepare for upcoming events while the coaching vacancy is addressed.
