Aurora hires ex-GamerLegion coach ash for rebuild

Aurora announced the signing of Ashley “ash” Battye as head coach, naming him the first addition in the club’s roster changes after Sezgin “Fabre” Kalaycı left and Engin “MAJ3R” Küpeli stepped down. The organisation also moved Caner “soulfly” Kesici to the bench.

Aurora’s active lineup lists Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, Özgür “woxic” Eker and Ali “Wicadia” Haydar Yalçın alongside ash. Two player slots remain open and the club has said it intends to sign international players to complete the team.

Ash, 35, built his reputation at GamerLegion, where he coached the side to the BLAST.tv Paris Major final in 2023. He left GamerLegion late in 2025 citing burnout, saying “I need a break to clear my head and work on myself.” After returning in early 2026, he said he wanted to “play with the best players” and “win trophies.”

During ash’s time at GamerLegion, several players moved from the organisation to larger teams and the roster was rebuilt multiple times. Aurora gave ash the task of integrating the remaining signings and preparing the squad for upcoming events.

Aurora has not released details of ash’s contract or a timeline for the final two signings. The club said it will announce the new players in the coming weeks and provide further information on training and event plans.
