Aurora into Cologne Major playoffs after woxic 1v4

Aurora advanced to the PGL Major playoffs after Özgür ‘woxic’ Eker’s 1v4 on Dust2 sealed a 2-0 pool-stage win over 9z.

Aurora advanced to the playoffs at the PGL Major in Cologne after Özgür ‘woxic’ Eker completed a one-versus-four on Dust2 to secure a 2-0 pool-stage win over South American side 9z.

On Nuke Aurora opened an 11-1 CT half and closed the map without allowing 9z to build momentum. Caner ‘soulfly’ Kesici posted a 2.13 rating on Nuke, his first LAN map above 2.00, and after the match he called it a ‘life game.’

Dust2 was decided late in the match. With the bomb planted and 25 health remaining, woxic won four duels against opponents coming from three choke points to clinch the decisive round and the match.

Match statistics showed several high-impact performances for Aurora. soulfly finished 34-16 with a 1.67 rating, woxic 30-13 with a 1.65 rating, and Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş 26-17 with a 1.41 rating. For 9z, Maximiliano ‘max’ Gonzalez ended 15-28 with a 0.78 rating, Luciano ‘luchov’ Herrera 20-27 with a 0.77 rating, and Matias ‘HUASOPEEK’ Ibañez Hernandez 12-26 with a 0.73 rating.

Aurora qualify for a Major playoff for the first time since PGL Copenhagen 2024. 9z are eliminated from pool play after the loss; earlier in the tournament they had taken Vitality and Spirit to close matches but could not replicate that form against Aurora.

Aurora will progress to the single-elimination knockout stage at the PGL Major in Cologne, where match winners advance deeper into the tournament.
