Aurora benches soulfly amid roster overhaul

Aurora have moved Caner ‘soulfly’ Kesici to the bench as part of a roster overhaul that began after Sezgin ‘Fabre’ Kalaycı left and Engin ‘MAJ3R’ Küpeli stepped down. The change leaves the organisation with three starting players and no head coach.

Soulfly joined Aurora at the start of the year, replacing Samet ‘jottAAA’ Köklü. Over six months he occupied supportive roles and recorded a 1.01 average rating. During his time on the roster Aurora finished second at ESL Pro League Season 23 and reached the top four at the IEM Cologne Major.

The club’s active roster now lists Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş, Özgür ‘woxic’ Eker and Ali ‘Wicadia’ Haydar Yalçın. Aurora has not announced a head coach since Fabre and MAJ3R left. Management is exploring options that could include adding non-Turkish players, according to people close to the organisation. No new signings have been confirmed.

In a post on X, soulfly reflected on his six months with the team: ‘I’m incredibly grateful for the last 6 months. I’m truly happy to have been part of this journey, and it’s an even greater honor to have been part of a chapter in Turkish CS history.’

Aurora have not provided a timeline for potential signings or a coaching appointment. The team’s next public matches and preparations will indicate whether the roster remains primarily Turkish or moves to an international composition.
