Astralis register Anlelele as Singapore Major substitute

Multiple sources told HLTV that Astralis have registered Sashi player Anton “Anlelele” Huynh as their substitute for the PGL Major Singapore. Huynh will replace Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov on the team’s event roster.

Huynh is reportedly already practicing with Astralis ahead of the Major, which is scheduled to begin on November 28. Astralis received an invitation to Stage 2 after ranking 12th in Europe’s November 2 VRS invite ranking.

Samolotov was included on FUT’s invited roster after the team’s elimination from PGL Masters Bucharest. He was listed before FUT played its fifth match with Álvaro “SunPayus” García, which prevents him from representing another team at the Singapore Major.

Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard remains on Astralis’ VRS roster after standing in for Samolotov during three Stake Ranked Episode 5 matches. Sources said he is not expected to play at the Major, with Huynh set to serve as the substitute.

Huynh’s Vietnamese citizenship was part of Sashi’s plan to move to the Asian VRS. The plan also included the signings of Tynan “TjP” Purtell and Jordan “Hatz” Bajic, which would have given Sashi an Asian core.

Sashi abandoned the plan after Valve introduced rules requiring teams to wait three months before a regional change takes effect. Valve also said teams that had changed regions before the Singapore Major would be ineligible unless they received an exception.

BC.Game received an exception after moving to the Asian VRS with Tyson “asap” Paterson. Sashi CEO Claus “D0KT0R3N” Nielsen questioned the different outcomes: “In my world, it’s very frightening that one team can solve it right away and the other team simply doesn’t get an answer. Why? Then we don’t get a fair chance to build further either.”

Astralis’ submitted lineup consists of Love “phzy” Smidebrant, Victor “Staehr” Staehr, Gytis “ryu” Glušauskas, Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and jabbi. Huynh is listed as the substitute, while Filip “NEO” Kubski is registered as the coach.
