9z bench meyern before Singapore Major
9z have benched Ignacio “meyern” Meyer before the Singapore Major, ending the Argentinian player’s second stint with the organization.
9z have announced that Ignacio “meyern” Meyer has been placed on the bench ahead of the Singapore Major. The change ends his second stint with the Argentinian organization.
The team has reportedly registered Brazilian AWPer Allan “history” Lawrenz as its substitute for the event. History has been without a stable team since RED Canids benched him in March. He attended the StarLadder Budapest Major with RED Canids. 9z have not confirmed whether he will join the starting lineup in Singapore.
Meyern had been in 9z’s starting lineup since November 2025, when he took over the primary AWPing role from Guilherme “levi” Gustavo. He first represented 9z in 2020 as a rifler.
The roster change follows a seven-match losing streak for 9z. The team finished last at PGL Masters Bucharest and IEM Beijing. Earlier in the year, 9z reached the quarter-finals of the IEM Cologne Major and won XSE Pro League Guangzhou.
After 9z’s elimination in Bucharest, head coach Bruno “BIT” Fukuda Lima said: “Right now we’re lucky to be in the Major — there’s no question about it. We really don’t deserve it. We’re in the Major because of how we’ve performed in previous tournaments-over the last three or four months-and I don’t think we’ve really earned it.”
9z’s current lineup includes Maximiliano “max” Gonzalez, Franco “dgt” Garcia, Luciano “luchov” Herrera and Matias “HUASOPEEK” Ibañez Hernandez. BIT remains the team’s coach, while meyern is listed as a benched player.
