IEM Atlanta runs May 11–17 in North America with a $1 million prize pool. The 16-team field is split into two double-elimination groups, with best-of-three matches in the group stage. The top three teams from each group advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket.

All opening-round matches are scheduled for May 11, and the day opens with Vitality versus BC.Game. The teams met at IEM Kraków in January, where Vitality won 2-0.

BC.Game made roster changes before the tournament, moving Christopher “MUTiRiS” Fernandes and António “aragornN” Barbosa to the bench and signing Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold on loan from The MongolZ. Analyst Robin “ScrunK” Röpke will serve as a stand-in for IEM Atlanta and the upcoming CS Asia Championships.

Other first-round matchups include Natus Vincere against Passion UA; Passion UA signed Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev on loan to take Senzu’s previous spot. FaZe faces paiN, which will play with new signing Rafael “saffee” Costa. Additional opening matches pair B8 with BetBoom, NRG with FUT, SINNERS with GamerLegion, Legacy with M80, and Liquid with Astralis.

Group winners, runners-up and the third surviving team from each group will move on to the single-elimination playoffs, where the champion will be decided and the $1 million prize pool distributed.

Several teams are using short-term loans and stand-ins to fill roster spots for this event.
