Vitality Defeat G2 2-1 to Reach BLAST Rivals Semifinals
Vitality beat G2 2-1 at BLAST Rivals Season 1, winning Mirage 16-13 after overtime and Dust2 13-3 after dropping Overpass to advance to the semifinals.
Vitality defeated G2 2-1 at BLAST Rivals Season 1, taking Mirage 16-13 after overtime, losing Overpass, and closing the series on Dust2 13-3 to advance to the semifinals.
On Mirage Vitality built a 10-2 lead on the CT side. Shahar flameZ Shushan led the opening half for Vitality. G2 rallied behind Álvaro SunPayus García on the AWP; his late clutches forced overtime. In overtime Dan apEX Madesclaire led Vitality’s T side and the team closed the map.
G2 won Overpass. The team’s CT side won an early force-buy round and pressured Vitality’s economy. The half ended tied. In the second half Matúš MATYS Šimko and Nikita HeavyGod Martynenko produced a 2v4 that contributed to G2 taking the map.
On Dust2 Vitality won the opening round and maintained control throughout, finishing the map 13-3 to secure the series victory and the semifinal berth.
Mathieu ZywOo Herbaut led Vitality with 56 kills and 42 deaths, 81.6 average damage per round and a 1.34 rating. Shahar flameZ Shushan finished 48-44 with 74.1 ADR and a 1.21 rating. William mezii Merriman was 48-38 with 70.2 ADR and a 1.12 rating. Robin ropz Kool had 52-43 with 75.9 ADR and a 1.07 rating. Dan apEX Madesclaire posted 36-46, 67.6 ADR and a 0.96 rating.
For G2, Álvaro SunPayus García recorded 52-46 with 82.5 ADR and a 1.16 rating. Nikita HeavyGod Martynenko went 47-50 with 77.4 ADR and a 1.10 rating. Matúš MATYS Šimko finished 44-46 with 65.2 ADR and a 0.85 rating. Guy NertZ Iluz had 35-50 and 54.8 ADR with a 0.77 rating. Nemanja huNter- Kovač was 32-51 with 60.9 ADR and a 0.65 rating.
The win sends Vitality directly into the BLAST Rivals Season 1 semifinals. G2 will enter the playoff bracket in the quarter-finals. The match report did not list Vitality’s next opponent or the full semifinal schedule.
