Valve ships CS2 patch fixing Cache to increase bomb explosion radius

Valve released a 630MB Counter-Strike 2 update on April 30, 2026, that fixes multiple Cache map bugs, blocks a Dust II Xbox visibility exploit and adds a speculative audio dropout fix.
Valve released a 630MB Counter-Strike 2 update, addressing map, gameplay and audio issues reported after the Cache remake. The patch follows a 5.1GB Cache update that introduced several problems for players.
On Cache, the update increases bomb explosion radius, adjusts lighting around Vent, disables player collision on a sign and removes a lamp by Squeaky. The electrical box on A-site was reworked to improve sightlines. The Checkers entrance frame height at B Main was lowered, an AC unit above Sandbags was removed, pipes were repositioned and a hole in the world at the Sun Room door was fixed.
The patch restores missing footstep sounds on top of crates at A-site, repairs wall-bang issues on A Main, reduces instances of z-fighting around Garage and adjusts grenade and player clipping across the map.
Dust II received a targeted fix that blocks visibility through the corner of Mid Box on Xbox consoles, closing an exploit that permitted sight through that corner.
The update includes a speculative fix for an intermittent condition where all audio could drop out for a player; the patch notes describe the audio change as speculative.
Other fixes cover camera, particle and environment behavior. The camera no longer intersects ceilings when players crouch-jump in confined spaces. Particle sprite opacity was adjusted for fully occluded flashbangs and smoke lighting behavior was made more consistent.
Minor gameplay and rendering changes include adjustments to the velocity of dropped pistol magazines and the restoration of Ambient Occlusion adjustment settings in the Environment Blend shader. The patch also fixes a case where money could be subtracted from the wrong player during bot takeover.
Valve published the full patch notes with the update. The 630MB download is available now through the CS2 client.
