Phantom has appointed Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt as its new head coach, replacing Dawid “lunAtic” Cieślak, who left the team in September. The position is Schmitt’s first as a head coach.
Schmitt, 32, last played for GenOne before joining 3DMAX as an assistant coach in February. He brings 17 years of playing experience across several versions of Counter-Strike.
The French player won two Major titles and appeared in top-20 player rankings three times during his career. He will coach Phantom’s Danish-Polish lineup of Thomas “TMB” Bundsbæk, Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi, Kamil “KEi” Pietkun, Kacper “Kylar” Walukiewicz and Jakub “Kunai” Gieremek.
“His experience, winning mentality, and perspective on the game are exactly what we were looking for as we build the next stage of our project,” Phantom said in its announcement. “Now it’s time to get to work.”
Phantom reached 55th in the Global VRS in mid-October and recently finished in the top four at CCT Europe Series 12. The team is set to compete in the next Major qualification cycle.
