MOUZ rally past Spirit to reach Bucharest playoffs

MOUZ secured a playoff place at PGL Masters Bucharest after beating Spirit 2-1. Spirit won MOUZ’s Nuke pick 13-2 before MOUZ responded with wins on Dust2 and Mirage.

Spirit controlled Nuke from the opening rounds, with Boris “magixx” Vorobiev, Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov and Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia helping the team build a strong defensive half. MOUZ won two rounds, including a 1v2 clutch from Oldřich “PR” Nový, but Spirit closed the map 13-2.

Spirit took a 5-2 lead on Dust2 after winning the pistol round and finding openings at the B site. Dorian “xertioN” Berman changed the momentum with a triple kill and a 1v1 clutch in the ninth round. Spirit failed to plant the bomb for the rest of the half, allowing MOUZ to take control.

MOUZ extended its lead to 11-5 after winning the second pistol round. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets and zont1x helped Spirit cut the deficit to three rounds, but two Desert Eagle entries from xertioN on Catwalk and a triple kill from Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás put MOUZ on map point. MOUZ won Dust2 13-8.

MOUZ started Mirage with a 6-1 lead on the attacking side. PR won a 1v2 in the pistol round, and torzsi completed a 1v3 clutch with the AWP. Spirit recovered through donk, who recorded several multi-kill rounds, including an ace. In the final round of the half, Spirit lost a 3v2 situation, allowing xertioN to win a 1v2 clutch and keep MOUZ ahead.

Spirit won the second pistol round and moved in front 8-7. MOUZ regained the lead by attacking the B site in the first gun rounds, with torzsi recording another AWP triple kill. Spirit later led 12-10, but MOUZ won the final regulation rounds to force overtime and completed the comeback with a 16-14 win.

Donk finished the series with 66 kills and a 1.61 rating. On Mirage, he recorded 35 kills, 123.6 average damage per round and a 1.93 rating. His performance was not enough to send Spirit through to the playoffs.

XertioN led MOUZ with 46 kills, followed by torzsi with 44 and PR with 41. Spirit were eliminated from the event after the loss.
