MOUZ edge past Astralis to reach BLAST Bounty final

MOUZ beat Astralis 2-1 at BLAST Bounty Season 2 to secure a place in the grand final. The series went the distance over Ancient, Mirage and Dust2, with MOUZ’s new roster winning the decider.

Ancient opened the match. Astralis built an early advantage on the T side, converting a pistol round into a 5-0 lead. Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen produced a triple that swung a pistol round, and although Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás produced a late clutch to keep MOUZ in contention, Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard responded with a Five-SeveN kill and finished the map with an ace and a last-second defuse to give Astralis the win.

On Mirage MOUZ took a 6-1 lead on their offense. Love “phzy” Smidebrant hit an ace with a saved AWP that kept Astralis in the map. MOUZ then dropped a 3v2 advantage to two AWPs before halftime. In the second half Adrian “xelex” Vincze won a force-buy round with a double push and MOUZ held several close situations to claim the map and force a decider.

Dust2 began with MOUZ leading 10-2 at the break, powered by torzsi and xelex. MOUZ won the first two rounds of the second half to reach series point, but failed to convert a 4v2 and Astralis’ phzy and jabbi pulled off a 2v4 to extend the match. Astralis repeatedly attacked the B site; MOUZ recovered and closed out the final map to clinch the series.

torzsi led MOUZ with 54 kills, an average damage per round (ADR) of 82.9 and a Rating 3.0 of 1.29. Adrian “xelex” Vincze added 46 kills and Lotan “Spinx” Giladi had 42. For Astralis, jabbi finished with 49 kills and a 1.20 rating, while phzy recorded 37 kills and produced several high-impact rounds, including the Mirage ace.

MOUZ will face the tournament’s remaining finalist in the BLAST Bounty Season 2 grand final later in the event.
