MongolZ reach Esports World Cup playoffs with 2–0 win

MongolZ defeated Brazil’s paiN 2–0 in the Group D lower semi‑final of the Esports World Cup, securing a spot in the tournament playoffs with map scores of 13–10 on Nuke and 13–4 on Inferno. The match decided which team would advance from the elimination bracket.

Nuke opened as a close map with rounds traded early. Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt produced a triple kill outside to win a force‑buy round for paiN and disrupt MongolZ’s economy. Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren replied with a triple kill during a 7–5 half. paiN continued to win rounds through individual plays, but bLitz recorded another 180‑spin triple kill that put MongolZ on match point. MongolZ then closed Nuke 13–10, finishing with a three‑round margin.

Inferno shifted decisively toward MongolZ. paiN took the map’s opening eco round when biguzera posted an ace, but the lead lasted only a few rounds. Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold scored an ace in an anti‑eco round, the third ace of the series, and MongolZ reached an 8–4 halftime edge. The Mongolian side won five consecutive CT rounds in the second half and completed Inferno 13–4.

Series statistics highlight individual performances. bLitz led MongolZ with a 37–25 kill‑death, 93.5 average damage per round (ADR) and a 1.54 rating. Teammate Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch finished 36–23 with an 89.0 ADR and a 1.28 rating. For paiN, biguzera posted a 34–25 K‑D, 86.2 ADR and a 1.29 rating while the other Brazilian players recorded lower ratings and ADR figures.

MongolZ won the fourth of four pistol rounds across the series, a sequence that preceded their decisive halves. With the victory, MongolZ advance to the Esports World Cup playoffs and paiN are eliminated from Group D’s lower bracket.
