KaiR0N- targets first Major as Nemiga near Singapore berth

Nemiga are close to qualifying for the Singapore Major after two wins at PGL Masters Bucharest. KaiR0N- said reaching his first Major would fulfill a long-term goal.

Nemiga have moved close to qualifying for the Singapore Major after winning two matches at PGL Masters Bucharest. The team had several online successes earlier in the season, and the results in Bucharest have left it waiting for official confirmation.

Aleksandr “KaiR0N-” Anashkin said Nemiga focused on their own matches instead of monitoring the qualification race involving other teams.

“I’m glad that my team didn’t struggle under the pressure,” he told reporters. “Everyone was watching the games and the other teams that are about to qualify. We didn’t focus that much on that; we focused more on our game.”

Nemiga controlled their latest series from the start. They won the opening pistol round and converted the following force-buy round. After taking a 3-0 lead, the team secured several opening kills and turned the advantage into a two-map victory.

KaiR0N- could not recall the final score of the second map but credited his teammates for the result.

“My team did everything great, and we won,” he said.

The qualification would give KaiR0N- his first Major appearance and first Major sticker. He recalled losing deciding matches in earlier qualification campaigns, including one when Europe had 15 available slots.

“I’ve been trying for many years, many teams,” KaiR0N- said. “I failed way too many times just to not enjoy it. This is just a dream for me to play there.”

Nemiga’s qualification was not officially confirmed at the time of the interview. KaiR0N- said he would not fully believe it until Nov. 2. The team will continue playing at the Bucharest event while the remaining qualification matches are completed.

He linked Nemiga’s improvement to the addition of robo at the start of the season and Xant3r about a month later. The new lineup initially lost series to former teammates 1eeR and Sowalio. It later gained confidence from wins over BIG and in qualifiers for a tournament in Spain.

“Everything just clicked, I guess,” KaiR0N- said. “We still are doing a lot of work, a lot of individual stuff going on.”

The current lineup is more structured than last season’s team, according to KaiR0N-. Robo has helped introduce the structure, while boX has supported its development and leadership. The system lets Nemiga prepare for opponents while keeping a clearer idea of the situations they may face during matches.

KaiR0N- also described a demanding individual routine. He spends about two hours a day practicing in deathmatch and goes to the gym three times a week. His focus is on improving his own performance rather than comparing himself with other players.

If Nemiga qualify, KaiR0N- does not have a specific competitive target for the Singapore Major. He wants to experience the event after reaching strong results at tournaments such as Katowice and ESL Pro League without previously playing at a Major.

“For me, honestly, I’m just happy to be there,” he said. “I’ve been trying for many years, with many teams. I failed way too many times just to not enjoy it.”
