FURIA advance to Esports World Cup semi-finals

FURIA defeated G2 2–1 in the Esports World Cup quarterfinal to reach the semi-finals, winning Ancient 13–3 and Dust2 13–4 after dropping Anubis 3–13. Danil “molodoy” Golubenko posted a 2.18 rating on Dust2 in the deciding map.

FURIA opened the series on Ancient, a map they had rarely played this year, and controlled both halves to close the map 13–3. G2 recovered on Anubis, using coordinated mid-rounds and stronger individual play to take that map 13–3. On Dust2, FURIA regained momentum and closed the series with a 13–4 win.

FURIA’s in-game leader Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo directed the team’s tactics while molodoy delivered multiple multi-kill rounds on Dust2 and finished with the match’s highest rating. Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis and Yuri “yuurih” Santos provided consistent fragging across the maps. Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato recorded a quad kill on an early force-buy on one map.

For G2, Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač contributed strong mid-round plays on Anubis. Guy “NertZ” Iluz produced late-round moments, including a 1v2 and a notable retake, and Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko had a four-kill hold during the series. Artem “r1nkle” Moroz made his second event appearance with the lineup.

The result sends FURIA into the Esports World Cup semi-finals. G2 exit with a top-eight finish. No official player comments were released after the match.
