MOUZ beat B8 2-0 after Ancient triple OT, reach Falcons semi

MOUZ defeated B8 2-0 to advance to a semifinal against Falcons tomorrow in the arena. The second map, Ancient, went to three sets of extra rounds before MOUZ closed the series.

On Overpass, MOUZ recovered from a 5-8 deficit to lead 13-8 after CT rounds. On Ancient, MOUZ opened with a 9-3 defensive advantage. Dorian ‘xertioN’ Berman recorded a 2.04 CT rating across the two-map series and raised his monthly defensive average to 1.60.

B8 rallied behind Andrii ‘npl’ Kukharskyi. npl won a late first-half 1v3 and recorded a four-kill pistol round to start B8’s defensive half. The match required three overtime periods, and several clutch rounds determined the outcome.

Justinas ‘jL’ Lekavicius won four clutches on Ancient, three on T side. After the match jL reflected, “Losing this game would have been very painful. We stayed in the game, our mental is very strong. They had their chances, according to statistics we struggle on this map.” Adrian ‘xelex’ Vincze held a 1.15 rating at the event and supported xertioN on Ancient’s CT side. Artem ‘kensizor’ Kapran posted a match rating of 1.23 for B8, while npl finished with a 1.03 rating.

MOUZ acknowledged their game plan on Ancient did not fully work; B8 ran a B rush in round 24 that diverged from MOUZ’s usual default setup. MOUZ will meet Falcons in the arena tomorrow.
