Counter-Strike tops Valorant in 2026 viewership with fewer hours

From January through May 2026, Counter-Strike led viewership across selected S-tier events, delivering about 205 million hours watched, a 1.38 million peak, and 292,000 weighted average viewers. Valorant recorded just over 130 million hours watched and 141,000 weighted average viewers in the same sample. Counter-Strike posted 702 on-air hours versus 926 for Valorant.

The comparison arrives during a busy period for tactical shooters. IEM Cologne Major 2026 is underway, and Valorant Masters London 2026 begins tomorrow.

Peak performance mirrored the totals. The top Counter-Strike event reached about 1.38 million concurrent viewers, while Valorant’s highest peak in the period was roughly 500,000 lower.

Event formats differ. Counter-Strike’s leading tournaments are international events operated by third-party organizers that bring teams from Europe, the Americas, Brazil, CIS, Asia, and other regions into a single bracket and schedule. Valorant’s S-tier ecosystem is centralized under Riot Games and runs VCT circuits in China, the Americas, EMEA, and Pacific through much of the early season before shifting to international stages.

In the sample, IEM Kraków 2026 delivered Counter-Strike’s strongest results. Valorant Masters Santiago led Valorant’s early-year viewership.

The figures reflect S-tier event outputs and cover January through May 2026. They do not include lower-tier events, creator streams, or qualifiers outside the selected set.
