ASTRA to Stream Full Time as M80 Wins Thunderpick NA
Mayline-Joy “ASTRA” Champliaud will focus on full-time streaming after BIG EQUIPA released its roster; M80 beat Wildcard 2-0 to win the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 North America.
Mayline-Joy “ASTRA” Champliaud, the 2025 women’s player of the year, announced she will concentrate on full-time streaming after BIG EQUIPA released its roster earlier this month. Champliaud wrote that competitive play will no longer be her main priority and added, “I’ll be focusing on streaming full-time as it feels like the right time for a fresh start.” She also said she will still compete in scheduled tournaments with the team while gradually stepping away from the professional scene.
Champliaud did not provide a firm date for a full competitive withdrawal. She described the shift as a gradual transition and confirmed she will honor upcoming event commitments during the change in focus.
In North America competition, M80 defeated Wildcard 2-0 in the grand final of the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 NA on Sunday. The eight-team playoff was affected by eligibility issues: only two of seven matches were played and five matches were recorded as forfeits after teams could not field eligible lineups.
M80 rose to 24th in the global VRS after the victory. Team members posted the tournament’s top individual numbers: Fritz “slaxz-” Dietrich went 47-26 with a 1.48 rating, Elias “s1n” Stein finished 35-27 with a 1.17 rating, and Michael “Swisher” Schmid recorded 32-26 with a 1.14 rating. Wildcard’s Jadan “HexT” Postma led his side with 34-30 and a 1.26 rating. M80 plans to attend IEM Atlanta and the CS Asia Championships before traveling to Europe for the Cologne Major.
Organizers and team officials reported that the Thunderpick playoffs highlighted ongoing problems with roster verification and travel logistics. Several teams were unable to meet eligibility requirements, which led to multiple forfeits and reduced the number of matches played. Champliaud’s announcement and M80’s title came amid those operational challenges, with Champliaud confirming she will continue in select events while focusing on streaming.
