Riot confirms League of Legends Classic, MSI 2026 reveal set

Riot confirms League of Legends Classic, MSI 2026 reveal set - news.white.market

Riot Games is developing League of Legends Classic and will give a full reveal at MSI 2026, scheduled for June 28–July 12.

Riot Games confirmed that League of Legends Classic is in development. A full reveal is planned during the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational, which runs June 28 through July 12.

The studio introduced the project with a teaser video that outlined the concept without showing gameplay or explaining systems. A dedicated presentation is slated for MSI 2026.

Executive Producer Paul “Pabro” Bellezza outlined a flexible approach rather than a rebuild of any single historical patch, describing a model that lets players define what feels “classic.”

Riot has not detailed mechanics, progression, matchmaking, or the champion roster for the mode. The confirmation follows weeks of community leaks that referenced the project and circulated a list of expected champions.

According to Riot, the initiative centers on authenticity for long-time players without locking the experience to one season or patch. Plans to address balance philosophy, itemization, map state, and client integration are set for the MSI reveal.

League of Legends launched in 2009 and has since seen extensive gameplay, map, and systems changes. Requests for a classic option have continued alongside those updates.

Riot indicated that the MSI presentation will outline scope and next steps for League of Legends Classic, offering the first detailed look at how the mode will work.
