HEROIC names Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer head coach

Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer is HEROIC’s new head coach, replacing Joonas ‘doto’ Forss and ending a nearly 20-year playing career.

Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer has been named head coach of HEROIC, replacing Joonas ‘doto’ Forss, who has been moved to the bench. The appointment ends Pfeiffer’s playing career.

The 36-year-old left Ninjas in Pyjamas’ active roster at the end of August after exploring a change of role. Pfeiffer returns to HEROIC, where he played for more than two years across two spells between 2016 and 2020, and will lead the team into upcoming events.

HEROIC sit 17th in the world rankings and carry a projected 77.4% chance of qualifying for the Singapore Major. The team has won two events this season, at Stake Ranked Episode 3 and Stake Pulse Beat II. Pfeiffer will make his first appearance as coach at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm from October 12 to 17, a $80,000 LAN that will include Astralis, MIBR and Envy.

The club confirmed the appointment and listed the active lineup as Linus ‘nilo’ Bergman, Tim ‘susp’ Ångström, Christoffer ‘Chr1zN’ Storgaard, Antonio ‘MartinezSa’ Martinez and Ludvig ‘Brollan’ Brolin, with Marco ‘Snappi’ Pfeiffer joining as coach and Joonas ‘doto’ Forss moved to the bench. Officials framed the internal change as part of preparations for the Major qualification cycle and upcoming events.

Pfeiffer’s playing career spanned nearly 20 years across three Counter-Strike titles. He is scheduled to appear in a public interview at 17:00 today to outline his priorities and discuss his switch from player to coach.
