Astralis set to sign cmtry on loan as a rifler

Astralis are set to sign Nikita “cmtry” Samolotov on loan from FUT, with the 19-year-old expected to join the team as a rifler.

The move follows stalled contract negotiations with Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard. Astralis have been seeking immediate replacements for both players.

cmtry was recently benched by FUT to make room for Álvaro “SunPayus” García after a difficult period of form. He joined FUT after beginning his career as an AWPer with NAVI Youth in 2023.

The Ukrainian has used the AWP throughout his time in tier-one Counter-Strike. A switch to rifling would mark a change in role after his time with NAVI Youth and FUT.

cmtry won the HLTV MVP award during FUT’s run to the PGL Bucharest title earlier this year. It was the Turkish organization’s only trophy during his time on the roster.
